A Journey of Growth, Loss & Realignment
I know it’s been a while.
If you have been following St. Etienne, you might have noticed my absence. I’ve been quiet, and this is not because I disappeared but because I was going through something deeply personal. I needed time to process, grieve, and reflect.
“Necesitaba tiempo para pausar, para sentir, para reencontrarme”
The past few months have changed me in ways I never expected. In December, I lost my father. A man whose love, strength, and unwavering faith shaped the very foundation of who I am.
Watching him transition from this life was a profound experience that has completely transformed my perspective, purpose, and approach to my work. This journey of loss, love, and rediscovery has led me here to a realignment of St. Etienne, one that is rooted in authenticity, intention, and a deep reverence for the spaces we inhabit.
During my father’s final months, everything in me told me to pause, be present, and serve the person who had given me life. So, I stepped away. I redirected all my energy into being with him, learning from him, and witnessing his faith and resilience even in his final days.
My father had a ritual: Every morning at 4 a.m., he would kneel to pray, and even when he was too weak to stand, he would ask for help kneeling. That consistency, that unwavering devotion, taught me something about life, love, and faith. He inspired me every single day. Te amo papi.
I realized that design is more than creating beautiful spaces, it is about honoring the energy we bring into them, the rituals we practice within them, and the legacy we leave behind in the hearts of those who gather there.
Con amor y corazón abierto.
